The West Virginia FILMmakers Festival is a competitive festival with categories in narrative, documentary, shorts, features, animation, horror, festival choice, and best film.

The West Virginia FILMmakers Festival is a wonderful venue for meeting filmmakers, actors and industry contacts, while experiencing the lastest produced films reflecting trends, techniques and technology. The premise of the festival is to showcase West Virginia through independent film.

The First Festival
was held in the spring of 2001 showcasing some of West Virginia's best filmmakers at the Landmark Studio for the Arts
in Historic Sutton, West Virgina. The second festival was held in the fall of the same year and continues to be held in early October each year. WV FILMmakers Festival is a not for profit corporation run in conjunction with the Landmark Studio for the Arts a 501(c) 3 corportation. The WV Film Office and Cafe Cimino are consistent sponsors of the Festival.

2007 Festival

Recognition
Each year filmmakers are recognized for excellence in their respective fields. The award is bestowed to the WV filmmaker whose most recent work or body of work has had the utmost influence in the film industry. Jurors
